This weeks Top 5 Wednesday is Favorite Fandom Items!
Ok, I thought this was going to be extremely difficult for me because I don’t collect fandom items. I mean I have to buy groceries, gas, rent… I don’t have enough money to buy posters or t-shirts or… other fandom things… At least I didn’t think I did…
Then I realized a fandom doesn’t need to revolve around a book…
1. Disney
– I’ve been to Disney more times than I can count and my love of Disney goes beyond the actual place. Its the magic, movies, characters, and it’s a way of life (too much?). When I think of Disney it brings memories of spending time with family and friends, watching movies with my sister, and it’s also the place my husband asked me to marry him. These are just some of the things I have that remind me of the happiest place on earth:
2. Milwaukee Brewers
– From the moment I was born I grew up loving baseball. My dad has been a fan his whole life and that love was passed to me. We have season tickets, I’ve only missed 2 Opening Days in my 27 years and I drove 14+ hours to watch them in the playoffs (only to drive back the next morning). This is my team and my heart:
3. Chelsea FC
– As much as I loved baseball growing up, I hated soccer. To me it was boring, slow, and sometimes pointless (I mean what kind of sport allows ties?!). That was until my husband came along… His love of Chelsea goes way beyond my love of the Brewers (something I never thought possible). So when we started dating I would watch Chelsea for him and he would watch the Brewers for me. Now? I can definitely call myself a fan. I know the players’ names, I know all most of the the sport lingo and I’ve travelled across the country just to watch a game. While I’m still trying to get across the pond to see a game at Stamford Bridge, it’s definitely on my bucket list:
4. Books… In General
– I’d like to think it’s possible to belong to a books (in general) fandom. I mean I love, love, love to read! And my (completely filled) bookshelves are definitely proof of that. So for this fandom I just have to say all of the wonderful books I’ve collected over the years:
5. Star Trek
– While I don’t have any “items” for this fandom, I am definitely a “Trekie”. I love the idea of space travel and meeting aliens and working on a starship. To me it’s extremely creative (how are they able to come up with a new cast and premise with each new series?) and thought provoking. My favorite is Voyager (captain Janeway is super bada**) but I have to admit my favorite actor is Christopher Pine so the new movies… mmmmm:
I love your Disney stuffβ¦ and the HP and TMI box sets are super cool πππ

Thanks! I try and tell myself I won’t get anymore Disney things, since it’s becoming a bit of a problem, but it never works π

Oh my gosh, I’m embarrassed to say I had no idea what Funko’s were. Well I’ve seen them but didn’t know that’s what they were called. Every time I see them I want one but I’m worried once I start I won’t be able to stop collecting lol

I also love all things Disney. I’ve been to Disney World three times and I’m dying to go back again! It’s one of my favourite places in the world. π
