Happy Saturday Everyone! I officially have a computer again. Well at least I have one to use for now. Really, you don’t realize how important technology is until it no longer works the way you need it to.
Any-Who…Last week I talked about all the perks of on-property resorts at Walt Disney World but I never said what those resorts were. Well don’t you worry, I’m going to spend the next several weeks telling you about the 25+ options (because let’s be honest, that’s way too much info to put in one blog post).
Disney World is big (I think I may have mentioned it once or twice…) so let’s split it up into sections. Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney Springs and the outliers.
What are the Magic Kingdom resorts?
The Magic Kingdom resorts are all “Deluxe” due to their popularity. Since most people want to stay near Cinderella’s Castle and with a view like this how can you blame them?
These are the resorts nearest to Magic Kingdom (In no particular order):
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- This resort contains 1 of the spas in Walt Disney World. It is also considered the “fanciest” resort on property due to it’s decor and theme.
- This resort also holds the Wedding Pavilion. While the Wedding Pavilion isn’t the only wedding venue on property it is used most often in Disney’s pictures. Fun Fact: According to their website Disney celebrates over 2,300 weddings…every year!
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows
- This resort is known for the Luau it hold every night. When looking to make reservations you will be looking for The Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show. My suggestion if you go to the Luau – Go really hungry! There’s so much food you will want to try.
- This is the only resort on property with over the water type accommodations. But be warned, they are the most expensive rooms on property.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- This resort takes you up north into the backwoods. It has a log cabin type decor and the theme continues throughout the whole resort.
- The Copper Creek Villas are among the newest addition to the Disney property.
- This is probably the most popular resort on property due to the location and transportation options.
- Chef Mickey is located inside the Contemporary Resort. Chef Mickey is one of the character breakfast locations on-property.
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- This resort is connected to Disney’s Contemporary resort.
- It is also the closest resort to Magic Kingdom.
All of the Magic Kingdom resorts are considered Monorail Resorts because the Monorail makes a stop at each one. It even passes through the middle of The Contemporary. The only exception is Disney’s Wilderness Resort (including the villas at Copper Creek).

I love Disney, and I really want to go back so bad! I have not been to Disney World, and that is something I would love to do, I went to Disneyland Paris as a child, and I loved it, but Disney World is definitely on my to do list!

Disneyland Paris is definitely on my bucket list. I’m so mad I wasn’t able to go when I was in Paris several years ago. Guess I’ll just have to go back lol.

The first time we went to Disney we stayed at the Polynesian resort. I loved that the monorail was right there and the grounds are so beautiful! It will always be one of my favorites.

We still need to stay there. I’m really surprised we haven’t yet. Plus it has the dole whip with rum 😀
