Disney Friday: Disney Springs Resorts

Hi everyone! I’m in the process of updating/organizing my blog so please bare with me for a little while. Think of it this way: Every day you visit you’ll probably see something completely different haha (I’m a little indecisive).

But on to more important things! Disney Friday is back! The last two weeks I talked about Magic Kingdom resorts and EPCOT resorts. This week is Disney Springs (DS) resorts.

Disney Springs is Disney’s shopping district. It’s previous name, Downtown Disney, explained it a little better. You will find shopping, dining and entertainment here. You do not need a park pass to enter DS and it is completely open to the public. I’ll talk about DS more in a later post.

  • These two resorts are on the same grounds and share buses, boats and pools.
  • Due to their cost, these are one of the most popular options for families who travel to Disney World for the first time.

Disney’s Old Key West Resort

  • Growing up, my family would go to Disney several times each year and this was our “home” resort. It will always, ALWAYS be my favorite on all of Disney property.
  • This was the first Disney Vacation Club resort (more on DVC in a later post) which means this resort has the largest rooms on all of Disney property.

  • Being the Disney nerds fans we are, my husband and I bought points into the DVC timeshare before we bought a house. When you buy into the Disney timeshare you select a “home” resort and Saratoga Springs is our home.
  • This resort has many rooms that look out towards DS.

Disney’s Treehouse Villas

  • The Treehouse Villas are accessed through Saratoga Springs.
  • These villas only have one size, 3 bedroom. Unlike most resorts which have studios up to three bedroom villas.

  • All Disney Springs Resorts can access DS via ferry boats as well as buses. ferry-boat-to-disney
  • Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course can be seen from these resorts. More information on the golf course can be found here.
  • You can access the walking/biking trails to Disney Springs from Old Key West, Saratoga Springs and The Treehouse Villas.
